This
little box is quietly deceiving. By studying it a little, you
will see why it is so named. It is comprised of two woods, walnut
and maple in such a way that each wood is intertwined but its
grain pattern remains unchanged. |

| Louis
XIV Serpentine Armoire |
|
|
It
is so difficult to make that it is probably the only one other
than the original. A search on the Internet indicates no others
are available for sale.
The
initial armoire and the development of the machinery took
three and a half years to design and build. Any subsequent
creations have an estimated time of six months to complete.

Works
of art bestow immense satisfaction and serenity from beauty they
provide to the admirer. Supplying these articles however is the
difficult part of the equation. The types of objects depicted here
are far too complex to afford the luxury of delegation of duties.
Consequently, they cannot be produced quickly or on any kind of
scale. Each one of the pieces has to be looked after from the start
to finish by the designer; only then can the beauty be extracted
from within the wood.
