This little box is quietly deceiving. By studying it a little, you will see why it is so named. It is comprised of two woods, walnut and maple in such a way that each wood is intertwined but its grain pattern remains unchanged. For example, if you look at the maple cubes you can see that the grain of the wood continues from cube to cube in a continuous fashion. This is also true of the walnut. Therefore this union of two woods without changing their characteristics results a harmonious "EMBRACE". Delivery time approximately 2 months.

Each one of the pieces has to be looked after from the start to finish by the designer; only then can the beauty be extracted from within the wood.

This concept came to the artist Jim Koudounis in a dream and was taken on as a fun project. Then the surprises started. There were several time consuming procedures that needed to be precisely carried out; each relying on the previous operations meticulous dimensions. This in essence being a geometric problem where the error in the two dimension (flat plain) becomes an exponential error in the third dimension (cube ). In other words, the cubes would not line up from the one side of the box to the other. Added to this of course is the retention of the grain patterns in each wood making the fun project an almost impossible task.
